The Neonatal department was established in 2001 with 20 open beds, making it one of the most advanced neonatal wards in China in terms of equipment and conditions. The department integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, and prevention. It is the "Shenzhen Youth Civilization Number", "Shenzhen Youth Civilization Demonstration Post", and "Shenzhen May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Branch".
The department has strong technical strength and routinely carries out respiratory support technology, fully automatic synchronous blood exchange surgery, hypothermia treatment, PICC catheterization, umbilical artery and vein catheterization, central/peripheral artery monitoring, neonatal behavior assessment (NBNA), amplitude integrated electroencephalogram monitoring, carbon dioxide partial pressure monitoring, premature infant fundus screening, premature infant development support and care, and other technologies. It is at the forefront of the treatment of critical illnesses such as premature infants, neonatal asphyxia, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, pulmonary transparent membrane disease, sepsis, meconium aspiration syndrome, etc., successfully treating infants with a minimum gestational age of 24+6 weeks and a minimum weight of 500g.
