Department Overview

Emergency medical innovation was established in the late 1980s. It is an emergency center that integrates medical treatment, teaching, and scientific research.

Equipment Configuration

The medical service area of the department includes in-hospital emergency care and pre-hospital first aid. The in-hospital emergency area comprises a pre-examination triage area, a general consultation room, a resuscitation room, an Emergency Intensive Care Unit (EICU), a dressing room, a debridement operating room, an infusion area, an observation area, and a chest pain observation room. The main emergency equipment includes defibrillators, monitors, ventilators (both invasive and non-invasive), cardiopulmonary resuscitation machines, video laryngoscopes, intraosseous access devices, and a cricothyrotomy kit. Additionally, the department is equipped with color Doppler ultrasound machines and rapid point-of-care biochemical analyzers. For pre-hospital emergency care, there are seven ambulances, including four monitoring ambulances and three negative-pressure ambulances, ensuring smooth pre-hospital emergency operations and patient transport safety.

Carry Out Projects

The emergency department is a crucial hub for hospitals to assess and rescue patients with urgent, critical, and life-threatening conditions, with an annual consultation volume exceeding 120,000. The primary conditions treated include cardiac and respiratory arrest, shock, multiple organ failure, cerebrovascular accidents, acute myocardial infarction, high-risk chest pain, acute abdomen, polytrauma, severe infections, various crises, and acute poisoning. Additionally, the department handles a wide range of general emergencies and urgent medical needs. The emergency techniques performed include central venous catheterization, hemodynamic monitoring and support, establishment of various artificial airways, mechanical ventilation, bedside ultrasound, bedside hemofiltration, temporary external pacing, defibrillation and cardioversion, and debridement and suturing.

Teaching Aspect

The department undertakes emergency teaching tasks for undergraduate students from Anhui University of Science and Technology and Shantou University School of Medicine, as well as emergency internship programs for clinical students from Ningxia Medical University, Zunyi Medical College, Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and other institutions. In 2020, our hospital was accredited as a national standardized training base for resident physicians, specializing in general practice. Our department is responsible for emergency teaching tasks for resident trainees in general practice.

Technical Advantages

In 2017, the AHA (American Heart Association) Training Center and the Shenzhen Emergency Center Luohu Hospital Group Emergency Training Base were established at the People's Hospital of Luohu District, Shenzhen. The training facility covers an area of 1,000 square meters and is staffed with AHA BLS Director Mentors, International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Mentors, ACLS Training Mentors, and BLS Training Mentors. The department actively engages with enterprises, institutions, schools, communities, and government departments to promote first aid knowledge and skills, training over 20,000 individuals to date.
