The Pathology Department of Shenzhen Luohu Hospital Group was established in 1995.

Carry out projects

At present, the Pathology Department has carried out routine pathology, rapid paraffin, intraoperative rapid, cell diagnosis, fine needle aspiration liquid based cytology testing, non gynecological liquid based cytology testing, immunohistochemistry staining, special staining, CINtec PLUS cytology testing, cellular DNA quantitative analysis, HPV E6/E7 mRNA testing, vaginal microbial DNA testing, CD3/4/8 cell immune testing, in situ immune hybridization, and difficult pathology inter hospital and remote pathology consultation and other pathology projects. It has undertaken teaching tasks for interns from multiple universities, effectively meeting the needs of various clinical departments for pathological diagnosis and teaching research.

In recent years, with the rapid development of the pathology department, more than 50 equipment have been purchased, including automatic tissue dehydration machines, automatic staining machines, integrated sealing machines, HE drop staining machines, frozen sectioning machines, cell smear machines, automatic immunohistochemical staining machines, HE drop staining machines, straight line professional sampling platforms, automatic rotary sectioning machines, multi person viewing microscopes, digital scanners, etc. More than 40000 routine paraffin sections, over 2000 frozen sections, over 30000 cytological examinations, over 25000 quantitative analyses of cellular DNA, over 10000 immunohistochemical staining, 30000 vaginal microbial DNA tests, and over 2000 HPV E6/E7 mRNA tests are completed annually.

Technical advantages

The department has advanced equipment and skilled technical personnel. In the 2016 Shenzhen Routine Pathology HE Technology Quality Evaluation, it ranked second in the city; In the 2018 Shenzhen Immunohistochemistry Technology Quality Evaluation, it ranked first in the city; In 2019, won the Excellent Award in the Guangdong Province Digital Cell Pathology Quality Control Evaluation; In 2020, it achieved excellent results in the digital cell pathology quality control evaluation in Guangdong Province, ranking first in tissue pathology and cell pathology diagnostic quality control. In the past three years, we have obtained nearly thirty certificates of inter laboratory quality control for pathology from the national, Guangdong province, and Shenzhen city levels. The department director has been engaged in clinical pathological diagnosis for 30 years and has rich diagnostic experience, especially in diagnosing breast diseases, thyroid diseases, female reproductive system diseases, and lymphatic hematopoietic diseases; The backbone of the discipline has expertise in sub specialties such as urology, hematology, bone marrow pathology, and cytology.
