General Surgery

General Surgery

General surgery is a key discipline in Luohu District. We mainly treat patients with liver, gallbladder, pancreas, gastrointestinal, hernia, and abdominal wall surgery. In 2017, our department was awarded the "Three Projects" B-class project by the Shenzhen Municipal Government. We have established deep cooperation with Professor Liang Tingbo's liver, gallbladder, and pancreas surgery team at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine in various aspects of the construction of the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas surgery discipline, continuously improving the comprehensive strength of our department's liver, gallbladder, and pancreas specialty and better serving patients in Shenzhen.

5400

Under the leadership of the discipline leader, it was rated as a key discipline in the district in 2016. In 2017, it successfully introduced Professor Liang Tingbo's team from the Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine through the Shenzhen "Three Talents Project" and cooperated with them in various aspects such as medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, and talent cultivation.

The annual surgical volume of general surgery is about 1300, of which third - and fourth level surgeries account for about 75%. Minimally invasive technology is currently a major feature of our department. We have routinely performed complex surgeries such as laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy, laparoscopic left/right hemihepatectomy, laparoscopic liver segmentectomy, laparoscopic radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer, and laparoscopic radical resection for colorectal cancer (including ultra-low anal sphincter preservation technique). The laparoscopic rate for routine surgeries such as appendectomy, hernia, and gallstones is over 98%, the laparoscopic rate for radical surgery of gastrointestinal malignancies is over 90%, and the laparoscopic rate for complex surgeries of liver, gallbladder, and pancreas is over 70%. The new generation of Da Vinci robotic surgical system Xi has been introduced, and Da Vinci robot assisted gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary pancreatic tumor surgery has gradually been carried out. Our department's technical features include 3D navigation technology, microwave ablation therapy for liver tumors, laparoscopic weight loss surgery, accelerated recovery after hepatobiliary gastrointestinal surgery, standardized comprehensive treatment for cancer patients, and treatment of pressure ulcers and refractory wounds. Our department has jointly established MDT remote consultation with the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, regularly conducting remote consultations on difficult cases and developing top-notch treatment plans for difficult patients in China.

Five major technological advantages of the department:

1. Minimally invasive surgery, including da Vinci robotic minimally invasive surgery and laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery.

2. Comprehensive treatment of malignant tumors in general surgery.

3. Comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of complex digestive and surgical diseases, including complex liver, pancreas, and gastrointestinal diseases.

4. Minimally invasive surgical weight loss surgery.

5. Rapid postoperative recovery.

In addition, 3D navigation technology, microwave ablation therapy technology, and laparoscopic weight loss surgery are also major features of our department.

Three engineers

In 2016, the Department of General Surgery successfully introduced Professor Liang Tingbo's team from the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine through the Shenzhen Medical and Health "Three Talents Project". The two sides cooperated in the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases, with a focus on surgical comprehensive treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic malignant tumors, minimally invasive surgery in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, multimodal treatment of hepatobiliary stones, and accelerated rehabilitation after hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. The comprehensive strength of the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Department of Luohu District People's Hospital was significantly improved, and it was at the leading level in the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases and key prevention and treatment of pancreatic tumors in Shenzhen. This brings good news to the diagnosis and rehabilitation treatment of more difficult patients with liver, gallbladder, and pancreas.
