Department Overview

Urology Surgery is currently a consultant (vice chairman) unit of the Urology Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association, a former chairman unit of the Shenzhen Medical Association, a leading unit of the Shenzhen Urology Diagnosis and Treatment Quality Control Center, a key clinical specialty in Guangdong Province (2022),and ShenzhenKey MedicalDiscipline (2020).

Department Settings

The UrologySurgery departmenthas two wards, and the Friendship Road campus has one and two wards. The urology department has independent outpatient clinics and outpatient operating rooms, with an annual outpatient volume of 30000 people and an annual surgical volume of over 3000 units.

Scientific research and teaching

At the same time, the clinical department and research team have been combined to establish the Institute of Urology at Shenzhen University, leading one national key research and development plan. In the past five years, it has been approved as a key project of the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Natural Science Foundation Outstanding Youth Fund, the National Natural Science Foundation, and Shenzhen municipal scientific research projects, and has published more than 50 SCI papers.

At present, the urology department has formed a clinical and research team with multiple well-known experts in the industry as the core.

Carry out projects

Professor Yang Jianggen introduced that in the past three years since the introduction of the "Da Vinci Xi Robot Surgery System" at Luohu Hospital, the urology department has carried out more than 300 robot assisted surgical procedures, including kidney, prostate, bladder and other tumor surgeries, as well as urinary tract reconstruction surgeries such as pyeloplasty and ureteral bladder reimplantation.

In recent years, young doctors from the Department of Urology Surgery

have been dispatched to the Medical Center of the University of Munich in Germany, Shanghai Changhai Hospital, and the Union Hospital of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology for further studies in urology. At the same time, they have had close academic exchanges with domestic and foreign peers such as the University of Hamburg in Germany and the Union Hospital of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology to maintain international standards!
