Department Overview

The Radiotherapy Department of Shenzhen Luohu District People's Hospital (Third Affiliated Hospital of Shenzhen University) is a modern tumor radiation therapy specialty that integrates medical treatment, teaching, and scientific research. The department has a strong team of talents, covering professional fields such as clinical oncology, radiation physics, radiation biology, and medical imaging. The department is equipped with internationally advanced tumor radiotherapy equipment.

The young physicians in the department all come from well-known radiation oncology training bases across the country. Senior physicians have their own sub specialties, and senior radiation physicists and radiation technicians have advanced training experience in provincial hospitals.

Department equipment

1. Two linear accelerators: ELEKTA, as a global pioneer in precision radiotherapy, is recognized as a leader in radiotherapy technology in the industry. Our department is equipped with one Axesse and one Infinity linear accelerator each. High end configuration: Integrated with high-speed Agility160 multi blade grating, six dimensional bed, optical surface monitoring, respiratory gating, head and body stereotactic radiotherapy system, FFF high-dose rate mode, four-dimensional CBCT, Yikeda Monaco radiotherapy planning system, and cross hospital tumor radiotherapy information platform.

2. One radiotherapy specific positioning CT: GE large aperture radiotherapy simulation positioning CT from the United States.

3. Radiotherapy quality control and dose detection equipment: ① German IBA and American SUN NUCLER intensity modulation verification systems, dose meters, and morning monitoring devices. ② German IBA 3D water tank.

4. Radiotherapy position fixation equipment: Domestic Koledi stereotactic radiotherapy position fixation system, multifunctional integrated human body fixation frame, breast radiotherapy special bracket, prone pelvic and breast fixation system.

Professional skills

We carry out various conventional and high-end radiotherapy techniques for common malignant tumors, including three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (CRT), intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), volume rotation intensity-modulated radiotherapy (VMAT), image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), body stereotactic radiotherapy (SBRT), head stereotactic radiosurgery/radiotherapy (SRS/SRT), deep inspiratory breath holding radiotherapy (DIBH), optical surface guided radiotherapy (SGRT), etc., to achieve safe, precise, and efficient tumor radiotherapy.

Carry out radiation therapy for benign diseases such as skin keloids and hepatic hemangiomas. Carry out various tumor treatment techniques such as radiotherapy combined with traditional Chinese medicine treatment, radiotherapy combined with immunotherapy, cryotherapy and microwave ablation treatment combined with radiotherapy.

Taking advantage of the comprehensive tertiary hospital, the department regularly conducts multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment (MDT) with tumor radiotherapy related departments to develop standardized diagnosis and treatment plans for patients. The department is divided into three sub professional groups: head and neck, chest, and abdomen. Our physicians, physicists, technicians, and nursing team work closely together and strive for excellence, strictly following radiation therapy standards and procedures to provide professional treatment for every patient.

scientific research

The hospital is the Third Affiliated Hospital of Shenzhen University, relying on the advantages of basic research at Shenzhen University. In recent years, the Department of Radiotherapy has led three provincial and ministerial level scientific research projects and won one second prize for provincial scientific and technological progress.

The Radiation Therapy Department is a vice chairman unit of the Radiation Tumor Treatment Professional Committee of the Shenzhen Medical Association and the Radiation Tumor Treatment Professional Committee of the Shenzhen Medical Association.

As the hub of the Bay Area, Luohu District has Shenzhen Railway Station and Luohu North High speed Railway Station. Multiple subways intersect here, and the transportation network is dense. It is an important hub connecting Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, radiating to the Pearl River Delta, and serving the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Luohu is a core area of cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong due to its geographical proximity, close social connections, and mountain and water connections. Since its establishment, the Radiation Therapy Department has provided high-quality medical services to patients across the country, especially those in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.
