Department Overview

The Department ofOncology & Immunologywas established in 2019. It is the first department in Shenzhen that mainly uses immunotherapy to fight against tumors and is one of the characteristic departments of Luohu Hospital. The purpose of this department is to transform the treatment model of tumor diseases from "completely eradicating tumors" to a chronic disease management model of "living with tumors"; focus on the latest cutting-edge technologies and drugs related to tumor immunology, maximize the vitality of the body's immune system of tumor patients, improve patients' quality of life, and prolong their survival period with tumors. Currently, the department is equipped with 1 basic research laboratory.

Personnel Composition

The department has a reasonable talent echelon and rich experience in the diagnosis and treatment of tumor diseases.

The members of the department's team have presided over 12 projects in Shenzhen and 1 national-level project in total. They have published more than 30 SCI papers and more than 10 papers in Chinese core journals, and applied for more than 15 patents. This department is a tumor immunology department that integrates scientific research and clinical diagnosis and treatment, and provides characteristic comprehensive diagnosis and treatment services.

The goal of the department is to build a tumor immunology department that integrates medical treatment and scientific research and has accurate and individualized characteristic diagnosis and treatment plans, and gradually develop it into an internationally influential tumor treatment and management center, providing international first-class individualized psychosocial support and rehabilitation for tumor patients in China.

Work Undertaken

Formulate standardized precision medicine treatment plans for tumors. Starting from multiple aspects such as patients' immune assessment, intestinal microbiota, nutritional status, and psychological assessment, an individualized Spirit treatment plan integrating tumor immunology, nutrition, and psychology is formulated, supplemented by traditional Chinese medicine treatment. The aim is to inhibit the recurrence and metastasis of tumors, improve patients' quality of life, and prolong their survival period.
