Department Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Department of Luohu District People's Hospital in Shenzhen currently has the most advanced equipment such as GE SPECT/CT 670 Pro, thyroid function analyzer, and fully automatic urinary iodine analyzer. It has now developed into a comprehensive department specializing in the treatment of thyroid diseases (iodine-131 treatment for hyperthyroidism, postoperative iodine-131 treatment for differentiated thyroid cancer), integrating iodine-125 radioactive seed implantation for the treatment of malignant solid tumors, strontium-89 for the treatment of malignant tumor bone metastasis and bone pain, 90 strontium application for the treatment of skin vascular tumors and keloids, radionuclide imaging, thyroid iodine uptake rate measurement, and urinary iodine detection.

1. Radioisotope imaging examination: bone imaging, thyroid imaging, renal dynamic imaging, parathyroid imaging, salivary gland imaging, ectopic gastric mucosal imaging, lung perfusion imaging, myocardial perfusion imaging, etc.

2. Iodine-131 is used to treat hyperthyroidism and thyroid cancer, strontium-90 is used to treat keloids and skin hemangiomas, strontium-89 is used to treat bone metastases, and iodine-125 radioactive particles are used to treat solid tumors.
