Department Overview
The Nephrology Department operates an integrated clinical system comprising inpatient wards, a hemodialysis center, and specialized outpatient clinics. Annually, it admits over 1,000 patients, with over 80% classified as CD-type cases13. The hemodialysis center, spanning 1,035 m² and compliant with national standards, performs 30,000 dialysis sessions annually and is equipped with 2 CRRT machines.
Equipment Configuration
●Dual-stage reverse osmosis water treatment systems (Laur, Germany) producing ultrapure water (conductivity <0.5 µS/cm), meeting AAMI and Chinese national standards.
●Advanced dialysis machines: 30 Fresenius hemodialysis machines, 6 Fresenius hemodiafiltration machines, 10 Gambro hemodialysis machines, and 5 Gambro hemodiafiltration machines.
●Dedicated vascular ultrasound system for vascular access evaluation.
Clinical Services
●Diagnosis and treatment of primary/secondary glomerular diseases (e.g., lupus nephritis, diabetic nephropathy), nephrotic syndrome, polycystic kidney disease, and acute/chronic renal failure.
●Advanced procedures: renal biopsy, immunoadsorption, peritoneal dialysis catheter placement/removal, and ultrasound-guided vascular interventions (e.g., percutaneous angioplasty, thrombectomy).
●Comprehensive blood purification therapies: hemodialysis, hemodiafiltration, plasma exchange, and hemoperfusion.
Technical Expertise
●Ultrapure Dialysis: Dual reverse osmosis combined with 0.5-µm bacterial filters reduces inflammatory responses and improves dialysis efficacy.
●Critical Care Support: CRRT for severe conditions like ARDS, MODS, and refractory heart failure.
●Emergency Dialysis Pathway: 24/7 availability for life-threatening complications (e.g., hyperkalemia, uremic encephalopathy).
●Early CKD Screening: Collaboration with preventive medicine departments for early detection and intervention.
●Vascular Access Management: Multidisciplinary approach for complex cases, including ultrasound-guided interventions and collaboration with vascular surgery.
Research and Achievements
●Recipient of municipal-level scientific advancement awards.
●Leads 2 municipal and 8 district-level research projects.
●Published over 100 papers in national and provincial journals; contributed to 3 academic monographs.
