Standardization construction

The Medical Laboratory Center began establishing a quality management system in accordance with the ISO 15189 international standard in 2017. In October 2019, it passed the on-site accreditation review organized by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), and then underwent three rounds of review in 2020, 2021, and 2024. Currently, the total number of accredited projects has reached 206, which is at a leading level among public medical institutions in China. The recognized venues include five main locations: the Laboratory Department of Luohu District People's Hospital (includingChunfeng Branchl), the Laboratory Department of Luohu District Maternal and Child Health Hospital, the Laboratory Department of Luohu District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and the Medical Laboratory of Luohu Hospital Group; The recognized professional fields include clinical hematology, clinical humoral medicine, clinical chemistry, clinical immunology, clinical microbiology, molecular diagnostics, flow cytometry, etc., covering a wide range of professional fields.

The Medical Laboratory Center has established a comprehensive quality management system in accordance with the ISO 15189 international standard "Special Requirements for Quality and Capability of Medical Laboratories", and strictly carries out various work in accordance with the quality policy and quality system documents of "precision, excellence, refinement, and refinement". We have researched and developed laboratory standardization management software such as the Clinical Laboratory Standardization Quality Management System, the Medical Laboratory ISO 15189 Accreditation Inspection and Internal Audit System, and the Clinical Laboratory Methodology Evaluation System, gradually moving departmental management towards standardization, normalization, informatization, and intelligence.

Discipline construction

The Medical Laboratory Center attaches great importance to the coordinated development of medicine, education, and research, and enhances the influence of disciplines. In 2016, we successfully introduced the laboratory medicine team led by Professor Fu Weiling from the First Affiliated Hospital of the Army Medical University in Shenzhen, and completed the periodic evaluation with excellent results in 2022. In 2018 and 2019, it ranked tenth in the South China region of China's Fudan University Hospital Rankings for Laboratory Medicine and top three in Shenzhen for two consecutive years. In 2020, it was rated as a key medical discipline in Shenzhen by the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission. For four consecutive years, it has received a B grade in annual performance evaluation. In 2023, as one of the first county-level co construction units, we will join the Guangdong Medical Laboratory Clinical Medical Research Center. In December 2024, it was approved as a provincial-level clinical key specialty construction project in Guangdong Province.

As a member unit of the expert group, the Medical Laboratory Center participated in the transformation of the international new standard ISO15189:2022, participated in the drafting of the health industry standard WS/T408-2024 by the National Health Commission, led the preparation of the group standard "Technical Requirements for Multi rotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Medical Supplies Transport" by the China Transport Association, and participated in the development of group standards such as "Lipoprotein Associated Phospholipase A2 Test Kit" and "Interleukin-6 Test Kit" by the Guangdong Medical Device Management Society. The three arrows of international standards, national standards, and industry standards were launched simultaneously, demonstrating the effectiveness and influence of discipline construction.

According to the existing research basis, technical conditions, the development level of the group's dominant disciplines and other factors, the center has defined the discipline development direction centered on the screening, identification, transformation and application of urogenital tumor markers, screening and diagnostic technology of birth defects, accurate diagnosis of infectious diseases, and clinical laboratory standardization and testing information engineering, focusing on four directions to carry out scientific research, so as to create a high-level and influential scientific research team.

Since 2017, the center has hosted 9 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 4 China Postdoctoral Science Foundation projects, 3 Guangdong Province Basic and Applied Basic Research projects, and 1 Guangdong Province Department of Science and Technology Key Special Project; Hosted/participated in 14 research projects of Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission, 1 special project of Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission for science and technology anti epidemic, and 2 projects of Shenzhen Health and Family Planning Commission for enhancing disciplinary construction capacity; Published over 90 SCI papers (including 34 papers with an IF score greater than 5 and 8 papers with an IF score greater than 10) and over 100 papers in core journals; Authored 1 Chinese health industry standard, 2 expert consensus papers, 12 various group standards, published 31 monographs, and obtained 13 national invention patents and software copyright certificates. Undertake the training of master's students in clinical laboratory diagnosis at Shantou University, Shenzhen University, Anhui University of Science and Technology, and Xinxiang Medical College, as well as teaching laboratory medicine and clinical guidance for interns at schools such as Guangdong Medical University, Shantou University School of Medicine, Shenzhen University, Anhui University of Science and Technology School of Medicine, and Xinxiang Medical College.

Sample transportation solution

In order to improve the transportation efficiency between medical institutions and medical testing centers and shorten the time for inspection reports, Luohu Hospital Group has taken the lead in carrying out drone transportation of test samples in Shenzhen, opening up a fast air transportation channel for test samples and effectively improving transportation efficiency. Especially in emergency situations, the advantages of drone air transportation capabilities are becoming increasingly prominent.

The drone can carry a load of 10 kilograms and can load about 1000 samples at a time. Each drone is equipped with an intelligent cold chain box and a cold chain recorder, which is connected to the cold chain management system to monitor the position, temperature and humidity, and sample activity throughout the process. Drones rely on flight platforms and network with their own communication systems. Operators can remotely control drones through the operation and control system to achieve automatic route planning, scheduling, and flight. The entire flight process is visible and controllable, providing efficient logistics transportation services while ensuring safety.

Drones are fast and efficient in transporting test samples, and are not limited by terrain or traffic. They are about 60% faster than ground transportation, and the inspection report time is significantly shortened. There is no difference in various testing indicators compared to the inspection results of ground dedicated specimen transport vehicles.
